Harrison Mevis Confuses Fans By Speaking Russia During Interview

Harrison Mevis got fans scratching their heads following his interview with NBC after win against the Bears.

Harrison Mevis had one job after the Los Angeles Rams won. Smile, say the usual things, thank the team and praise the fans. Maybe mention hard work and faith. Instead, he did something no one had on their bingo card. He spoke Russian on NBC live. And the internet lost its mind.

Mevis and Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford were speaking with reporter Melissa Stark after the kicker nailed a 42-yard field goal in overtime to send his team to the NFC Championship Game.

But as he started to reply to Stark’s first question, audio from what seemed to be a different program started to play.

Many on social media suggested it sounded like Russian but the issue corrected itself after a few seconds.

It seemed like Mevis, 23, was unaware of the difficulties, as he continued with his answer untroubled. But confused fans raced to social media to try and find out what happened.

One commented: ‘Did Mevis just malfunction and speak another language on live TV lmao.’

And this is how fans reacted to the situation.

Another added: ‘What in the world did Harrison Mevis just say? Or did YouTube TV just glitch?’

‘Harris Mevis speaking pure alien there,’ another confused viewer commented.

‘Did anyone else’s NBC feed have Mevis speaking backwards?’ a fourth asked.

‘Wait… what was this gibberish?’ another fan asked, before adding: ‘Harrison Mevis is not of this earth.’

Some on social media have claimed that the feed was scrambled because Mevis said ‘s***’ as he replied to Stark’s first question. Others say he said ‘shoot’.

Mevis continued: ‘It was a good moment, obviously. Good for the team, good to get the win. That’s why we do it, man.

‘Preferably this guy (Stafford) gets in the end zone but if it has to come down to me I’ll be ready for my moment.’

NBC didn’t cut him off, they let it rock. That made it legendary. The clip spread faster than a missed extra point meltdown. Memes popped up everywhere.

To his credit, Mevis didn’t apologize. Why would he? He gave us content. Pure, unexpected content. In a league where most interviews sound the same, he broke the script. He confused fans, entertained everyone and made postgame interviews interesting again.

Football is supposed to be fun and Harrison Mevis understood the assignment.
