Seattle Storm guard Lexie Brown has limited comments on her Instagram account after a wave of unverified social media rumors falsely tied her to NBA player Klay Thompson following his public breakup with rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
Thee Stallion, 31, posted a pointed Instagram Story on Saturday accusing Thompson of cheating and describing other strains in their relationship, including “horrible mood swings” during the NBA season and uncertainty about monogamy. She later confirmed the split in a statement, saying “trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable” and that she was prioritizing her peace.
Thee Stallion did not name Thompson or anyone else in her post. Thompson, 36, a guard now with the Dallas Mavericks, has not publicly commented.
Within hours, unverified posts on X and Instagram began naming Brown, 31, as the alleged “other woman.” The claims, which originated from anonymous accounts and included speculation about private messages and follow lists, spread rapidly despite a complete lack of evidence or confirmation from any involved party.
In response to the flood of mentions, tags and hostile comments, Brown restricted interactions on her Instagram profile, according to multiple user reports and social media observers. She and Thompson also reportedly unfollowed each other on the platform, though the exact timing was unclear.
Brown has been subjected to a flood of derogatory and abusive comments on X and other platforms as Megan Thee Stallion fans and others piled on. Commenters have repeatedly called her a “pick-me,” “bird brain,” and “TEXTBOOK side bitch,” while criticizing her character and professional abilities. One widely shared post stated: “Lexie Brown has BEEN a pick-me, male-centered WEIRDO. She is EXACTLY the type of bird brain to be flattered that someone like Klay Thompson would want to sneak around with her behind his high-profile girlfriend’s back. She is TEXTBOOK side bitch. And can’t ball worth a damn.”
Brown has not addressed the rumors publicly.

A 2024 WNBA champion with the Chicago Sky before joining the Storm, Brown has continued posting about basketball and preseason activities without referencing the personal speculation. Neither Brown’s representatives nor the WNBA have commented on the situation.
The episode underscores how quickly celebrity gossip can ensnare athletes, often without factual basis, and force them to adjust their online presence for privacy. Thompson and Thee Stallion had been one of the most visible couples in sports and entertainment since going public with their relationship last summer.
