According to reports, 27-year-old Mikayla Kloth has been arrested after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Lukas Rosch, during an argument that started over dinner plans. Yes, dinner.
Police say Rosch, 25, came home with a plan. Not a bad one either. Chicken drumsticks, seasoning, air fryer ready. A simple, peaceful night in and budget-friendly. No waiting for a table. Honestly, it sounds like a solid plan.
But apparently, that was not the vibe.
Kloth allegedly wanted to go out to a bar instead. You know, drinks, noise, maybe overpriced fries. A different kind of Friday night. And somewhere between “let’s cook at home” and “let’s go out,” things went completely off the rails.
According to the criminal complaint, Kloth told investigators that Rosch “began pushing her buttons.” That argument escalated fast. Like, way too fast. The kind of fast where suddenly nobody is talking about chicken anymore.
Instead, it ended in tragedy.
Authorities say Kloth stabbed Rosch in the chest during the altercation. Emergency responders attempted CPR, but sadly, he did not survive. And here’s where the story takes an even more surreal turn. Kloth allegedly admitted to the stabbing during the chaos and reportedly told officers that if they had to lock her up, “that was cool.”
While she was being driven from the apartment to the police station, she was heard making “excited utterances” and stated “she should have just gone to the bar, and the whole thing was irritating.”
“While transporting her, the defendant stated that if [Rosch’s] parents didn’t hate her before, they will hate her now,” the complaint claimed.
Kloth is being held on a $2 million cash bond and could face life in prison if convicted.
She made her initial court appearance on Monday, where Rosch’s father, Michael Rosch, told the court he is a “shattered man” after his son’s death.
“Please never let that monster walk the streets ever again,” he said, according to courtroom footage.
“We are completely broken at the tragic and senseless loss of our son, Lukas John Rosch, the most loving, giving, kind-hearted person anyone could ever meet,” Rosch’s family told WISN in a statement. “We are just asking for privacy at this time as we try to process.”
At the center of all the headlines is a life lost and another life now facing serious legal consequences, all over dinner.
