Authorities have sentenced a truck driver to more than 13 years in prison for allegedly smuggling millions of pounds of cocaine into a package that included Kim Kardashian‘s SKIMS apparel and lingerie.
According to an official press release from the National Crime Agency (NCA) of the United Kingdom, Polish national Jakub Jan Konkel, 40, was sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court on Monday, May 18, after an investigation.
On September 5, 2025, Konkel arrived on a ferry from Hook of Holland in the Netherlands and was apprehended by Border Force personnel at the Port of Harwich in Essex, according to the authorities.
According to the NCA, Konkel’s vehicle was transporting 28 shipments of SKIMS apparel at the time. Investigators then found that the truck had been specially modified with a hidden compartment placed into the back trailer doors, even though the load itself was valid, according to officials.
Authorities discovered 90 packages within the hidden area, each carrying about 2 pounds (1 kilogram) of cocaine, with an estimated street value of about $9.6 million (£7.2 million), the agency said.
According to the NCA, neither the importer nor the exporter associated with the SKIMS shipment were involved in the smuggling scheme.
Kim Kardashian and SKIMS have not been charged with any crimes.
