Dating in 2026 is apparently not for the weak.
One minute you’re matching on an app, the next minute somebody is showing up at your house with wine, water ice, and enough determination to qualify for an Olympic event.
According to police, Pennsylvania woman Lindsay Harris went on a single date with a man she met on Match back in January. One date, not a relationship, not an engagement and not even a “we should totally do this again sometime” situation.
The man reportedly decided not to continue seeing her. A normal person might shrug, eat some ice cream, complain to friends, and move on with life.
Police say that was not the route chosen here.
Authorities say that months later Harris showed up at the man’s Fairless Hills home ready for what appeared to be a cozy evening. She arrived carrying wine and water ice, which honestly sounds less like a burglary starter pack and more like the beginning of a romantic comedy that got rejected by Hollywood for being too unbelievable.
Unfortunately, the homeowner was not interested in the surprise sequel.
Police allege Harris broke into the home and was later caught attempting to get back inside after being confronted.
Cops said they spotted Harris, 30, sneaking into the man’s house through a window – carrying a bottle of red wine and some Italian water ice in preparation for what she believed would be a steamy evening, NBC Philadelphia reported.
But what Harris saw as a romantic gesture, the alarmed man saw as breaking and entering, and he quickly called 911, with cops saying they rushed over and cuffed the loony lover.
“We get a call for a woman breaking into one of our residents’ homes in Fairless Hills. We responded and sure enough, officers see a 30-year-old female crawling through a window, and they take her into custody and then we find out the whole story,” Falls Township Police Chief Nelson Whitney told the local news station.
Besides the late June break-in, the man told NBC 10 that he suspected Harris had visited his home multiple times, as he found many items moved around or out of place in his home.
He also told the outlet he had never given her his address.
Police charged Harris with burglary, criminal trespass, stalking, and harassment in connection with the incident.
