Philadelphia has apparently decided that ordinary morning chaos was not enough. Residents in Center City now had to deal with a man running around in a Chucky-style mask. Yes, Chucky!
The masked man is accused of terrorizing people around City Hall during the early morning hours. Police say he chased both men and women. He also allegedly caused trouble inside local businesses and was kicked out.
Basically, it sounds like the kind of thing that should stay inside a horror movie.
Woman kicks man who was 'terrorizing' people in a 'Chucky doll' mask:
A woman named Jameka successfully fought off a masked assailant by kicking him in the chest after he attempted to target her during a 15-minute crime spree in Center City, Philadelphia.

But one Philadelphia woman was not interested in playing the role of a terrified extra.
She says she fought back when the masked man confronted her. Instead of running away screaming, she stood her ground and defended herself.
That takes some serious courage.

Most people see someone wearing a creepy Chucky-style mask and immediately start reconsidering every decision that brought them to that street. This woman apparently chose another strategy.
Fight first, ask questions later!
Police say this guy could be filming these encounters on his phone.
One of the victims spoke to Action News and showed us how she kicked the suspect in the chest when he tried to attack her.
She says he approached her with his phone after chasing someone else.
“I started to wave at her from across the intersection and say, ‘Hey, there’s someone behind you — look behind you!’ And she heard me, and then she started to run away,” said Jameka, who asked not to use her last name.
She then witnessed him try to force his way into a La Colombe coffee shop before turning his attention towards her.
“I figured if anything was going to happen, I wanted to see it with my own two eyes,” she said. “So, then I turned around, I started yelling at him, ‘Don’t follow me’ and screaming at him. Then at that point, I put up my hands as if I was going to fight. I blocked my face, making sure my center line was protected. And then he also started to put his hands up but I could tell that he’d never been in a fight before.”
Her decision to speak out is also giving people a closer look at what residents were dealing with.
She says he ran away after she kicked him.
Jameka said something seemed off about the man.
“He just seemed so disoriented about what his goals actually were. I had bags; he wasn’t reaching for those. It didn’t seem like he had a clear goal to like actually get in La Colombe to do anything, so I was like OK, well, let’s see if you can fight — and he couldn’t.”
While at the coffee shop, Kate Egan told Action News that the suspect terrorized one of her coworkers, but a security guard intervened.
“It’s pretty disturbing,” Egan said.
The incidents have left Egan and others concerned.
“It’s really unsettling just trying to get to work and have a kid like this actively terrorizing women,” Egan said. “I really hope he is caught.”
The whole situation sounds bizarre. A Chucky-style mask, city Hall, early mornings, people being chased and businesses getting involved.
Philadelphia really said, “Good morning,” and then added a horror movie plot.
Now residents are hoping the strange episodes are over, because nobody needs a real-life Chucky sequel during their morning commute.
