Sunday, Kevin Durant returned to city where it all started.
Durant played one season for the Seattle Supersonic’s in 2007 after being the #2 overall pick out of Texas. The Sonic’s of course relocated to Oklahoma City, and the rest is history.
Durant returned to Seattle Sunday night to take part in the Jamal Crawford Seattle Pro Am.
“I just want to say I miss you guys,” Durant told about 3,000 fans, many in Durant’s old Seattle SuperSonics jersey. “Thank you for the warm welcome. I can’t wait to come back.”
“He reached out to me to come perform before in front of you guys,” Crawford told the crowd at Seattle Pacific University. “He loves Seattle. He took his own jet. He spent a lot of money to come up here and perform in front of you guys.”
In the video courtesy of Inside Hoops, Durant and Crawford went at it, with Crawford’s team pulling it out in overtime, 147-141.
Durant went crazy for 63 points, on 62 shots. Crawford had a modest 46.
