It appears both Jeff Fisher and Vince Young will be collecting unemployment together. Fisher seemed safe after VY was kicked to the curb, but obviously something changed in the past few weeks.
Does this mean the Young may come back to the Titans?
We will have to see, here are the details:
In an unexpected development in what already has been a turbulent offseason in Tennessee, the Titans and Jeff Fisher, the NFL’s longest-tenured head coach, are preparing to part ways, SI.com learned Thursday afternoon.
According to an NFL source close to the situation in Tennessee, the move could be announced as early as Friday, although it’s uncertain if Fisher’s departure will be termed a firing, a resignation or a mutual parting of ways.
The Titans have bungle this whole situation.
Now they don’t have a coach and their Quarterback is sitting in limbo. Bud Adams has lost total control of the situation.
There are several theories in play.
One school of thought is that Fisher wanted to get fired and figured if he gave an ultimatum that Adams would choose Vince Young over him, but when that didn’t happened Fisher try to make it work, but decided he wanted out.
Others are thinking that Adams had always planned to get rid of Fisher, but didn’t want to give him the opportunity to take another head coaching job, so he decided to fire him after all the head coaching positions were filled.
Either way the entire situation was handle horribly and the Titans franchise will suffer.
