Oklahoma City Mayor, Mick Cornett is ‘concerned’ for Kevin Durant after losing him to the Golden State Warriors, telling TMZ Sports he believe’s Durant made a grave mistake bouncing on the Thunder:
“My only observation is … I think he may have gotten bad advice and I suspect it won’t work out.”
“Now, I could be wrong but that’s what it feels like to me. I think he got bad advice.”
Mayor Cornett, although obviously disappointed in Durant’s decision; went on to praise his former superstar’s time in OKC, calling him a “model citizen”, as well as pointing out his philanthropic efforts among other things.
I’m not sure what “bad advice” Mayor Cornett is referring to. Kevin Durant may be making less money in his NBA contract by joining forces with Golden State, however; what he is missing, he’ll surely make up off the court in the San Fransisco market. As big as he was in OKC, it won’t compare to his attention in the Bay area, be it positive or negative.
Everyone should be fortunate enough to make these kinds of “mistakes”.
