Iyanna Mayweather, the daughter of boxing legend Floyd Mayweather is facing the possibility of substantial time in prison after being arrested and charged for stabbing the mother of rapper NBA Youngboy’s child.
The 19-year-old has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which is a felony in Texas. The sentencing guidelines for the charge range from anywhere between 5 to 99 years in state prison and a $10,000 fine.
Mayweather has hired famous Houston attorney Kurt Schaffer, who in the past has represented J.Prince, Pimp C, and Farrah Fawcett. Mr. Schaffer points out that the max Yaya could get is 20 years in jail, but since she is a first time offender it is highly likely she might not spend any time in jail at all.
Mayweather is preparing to plead not guilty, Schaffer told Bossip.com
The incident occurred after Mayweather was involved in an altercation with NBA Youngboy’s baby mama Lapattra Jacobs in the rapper’s kitchen, Mayweather then proceeded to grab a knife and stab Jacobs.
Mayweather heads back to court for the case in August 2020.
