After revealing that she had greatly increased her daily earnings by putting her feet in the delivery confirmation images given to customers, a Los Angeles-based food delivery driver went viral.
On the social media site Threads, Jade Phoenix revealed the novel tactic, asserting that the side mission has caused a spike in patrons leaving additional gratuities when their food is delivered.
Phoenix revealed that she first began taking Uber Eats early in the morning to earn some additional cash for purchases, but she quickly found that a little “foot work” went a long way.
Several screenshots of the delivery images Phoenix provides to clients as proof that their order has arrived are included in the post.
In one picture, a Starbucks bag rests on a concrete doorstep, and Phoenix’s feet in tan Birkenstock-style sandals with white-painted toenails are clearly seen at the bottom of the frame.
The identical pair of sandals and a brown paper delivery bag may be seen in another picture. In a third, two McDonald’s bags are neatly placed on a door mat, with her feet once more appearing.
As other gig economy workers sought to test if the strategy would work for them, the post soon acquired popularity, receiving over 70,000 likes and thousands of shares.
