Nothing says “peaceful internet” like a celebrity relationship rumor mixed with a comedian who has zero interest in staying quiet. Enter Kam Patterson, who decided to grab the mic and casually throw a little gasoline on the already burning rumor fire involving Klay Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion.
During a recent moment that had strong “I’m about to trend” energy, Patterson joked about the alleged cheating drama surrounding Klay and Megan. And he didn’t exactly tiptoe around it. He went straight for the headline with a punchline suggesting Megan needs a “real man.”
“Who even is this guy?” the comedian quipped on the “Weekend Update” segment, before co-host Michael Che chimed in to say Patterson was a “world-famous pro basketball player.”
“Wait a minute, there’s a WNBA for men? What would you even call that? The MNBA? … To me, he’s not Klay, he’s dirt,” Patterson added.
“What Meg Thee Stallion needs is a real man,” the 27-year-old added, as Che, 42, responded, “What else makes a real man?”
Playfully describing himself, Patterson stated that a “real man” is “probably employed in a thriving industry,” such as “entertainment” and working on a “sketch television show.”
“And he’s not in many sketches,” Patterson added, referring to his current debut “SNL” season. “But he’s doing OK. Some say he’s finding his voice more every week.”
Patterson actually came for Klay Thompson’s head for allegedly deceiving Megan Thee Stallion into thinking that she’s the only woman in his life.
The audience cheered, and Che told them not to “encourage” Patterson’s remarks, adding, “That’s just you, Kam.”
“I guess that does kind of sound like me,” Patterson continued, before jokingly insisting that he didn’t know who Thompson, “a four-time NBA champion and second greatest shooter of all time,” was.
Patterson admitted to wanting to date Megan, saying, “Megan, if you’re watching, let me talk to you direct.”
He then leaned forward as seductive music played in the background, telling the camera, “Am I the man you want? Probably not. But am I the man you need? Also no.
“But you’ve already had the best baby, so why not try the rest?” Patterson questioned, before showing several alleged DMs he has sent to the hitmaker.
At the end of the day, this is one of those moments where comedy meets gossip and nobody really leaves untouched. Patterson gets his laughs, the internet gets its content, and the ex-couple? They get dragged into a conversation they didn’t exactly RSVP for.
