The homie Sports by Brooks put on his Detective hat (the man doesn’t sleep) and have found not one, but three Clear Channel radio stations who claim to have the apology Tiger will say on Friday.
Since this has been leaked I am sure that Tiger’s PR people will change it around, but it gives me an opportunity to point out how Woods and his team have already destroyed a golden opportunity to nip all this drama in the bud.
A carefully spoken apology is the last thing Tiger needs to be doing.
He wants this to go away he needs to stand up like a man and just answer the questions. The whole situation is dumb. I never seen a person buried as much as Tiger just for cheating.
There have been athletes who have been convicted of felonies and have not take as much heat as Tiger.
This was Tiger’s opportunity to make people feel foolish for even making this into a big story. I know people say he has to do this for his sponsors.
Let me tell you something about sponsors as long as you are winning they will always come back regardless of what you say or do.
Ask Kobe Bryant
Ask Ray Lewis
Tiger Woods is trying to hard to make the perfect apology and that has always been his problem trying to be perfect.
For once in his life he just need to be himself and all this will blow over, but with this statement and not allowing questions he will just continue to make this into a bigger story than it is.
Here is the alleged apology statement.
“Directly to the point there is no one to blame but me for the mess I have put my wife and family through. I accept total and complete responsibility. My wife and I have been trying to work things out but sadly things have not worked out.
Again all the blame is upon me. We have decided to live apart with me having mutually agreed upon times when I can be with our children. I know that the world wants all the details of what transpired in our marriage but that is between my wife and I and will remain that way. I have to get on my life and that means playing golf again.
I have contacted The Masters and have informed them that my plan is to resume The Masters and they have said that they would welcome me with open arms. For that I am most grateful for I deserve nothing. Finally I want to thank all my fans around the world for standing by me when I let you down horribly. I failed all of you about as badly as a person can.
I apologize to everyone of you. I promise all of you that you will see a new Tiger Woods, a better Tiger Woods and I will not let you down. Now I’d like , by the grace of God and with His help, to get back to what I do best and that is playing golf. See you all at The Masters. God Bless you all. Tiger Woods”
