Former Florida QB Chris Leak Suspended From Arena League After Being Benched

A lot of people mistakenly think that Tim Tebow led the Florida Gators to Two National Championships.  That is factually incorrect.  Tebow as a freshman was a role player on the 2006 Florida Gators championship team.

The leader and quarterback was Chris Leak.

His career in some ways has gone the same way as Tebow’s journey, but on a much much much much much smaller scale.

The Chris Leak era lasted one game for the Jacksonville Sharks.

The former Florida Gators quarterback was told Tuesday Omar Jacobs was the new starter for the defending AFL champions. He skipped practice on Wednesday and immediately was suspended by the team.

“Chris is not here,” coach Les Moss said after practice.

Leak led Florida to the 2006 national championship. He failed to keep a lasting spot in the National Football League and the Canadian Football League. The Arena Football League was considered a last-ditch effort to extend his career.

Maybe he can sign with the Jets?
