The Minnesota Vikings did what they said they wouldn’t do today when they traded disgruntled wide receiver Percy Harvin to the Seattle Seahawks for a myriad of draft picks.
Some of the Vikings players are reeling right now. MVP running back Adrian Peterson says he feels like someone just kicked him in the gut.
Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams was on Sirius XM radio with Rich Gannon, and according to Pro Football Talk, Williams now can’t name a receiver on the Vikings roster after Harvin’s trade and Michael Jenkins release last week.
“I can’t tell you one receiver that’s on the team right now,” Williams told Bruce Murray and Rich Ganon of SiriusXM NFL Radio. “That is funny. After we lose Percy and Michael, I can’t name one that we have on the roster. So we’re definitely going to have to make some moves in the draft and free agency to try to get us a receiving corps, period.”
Minnesota reportedly tried unsuccessfully to try to acquire Anquan Boldin before he was traded to San Francisco. We definitely expect the Vikings to go full throttle for Greg Jennings, Mike Wallace, Danny Amendola, or Wes Welker.
For the record, those receivers would be Devin Aromashodu, Stephen Burton, Greg Childs, Jerome Simpson, and Jarius Wright.
