Bills 1st round pick and potential starting QB EJ Manuel will miss the remainder of the preseason after having a “minor knee surgery.” Here is the Bills statement:
EJ Manuel had some swelling in his left knee this morning and was examined by our medical staff. An MRI revealed that he will need to have a minor knee procedure and that has been scheduled. He will miss the remainder of the preseason and then be re-evaluated at that time. Kevin Kolb will be our starting quarterback for this weekend’s game at Washington.
This is a big blow for the Bills who by all indications were prepared to give the job to Manuel. We all know there really no such thing as “minor” knee surgery so it will be interesting if he will be ready to go to start the season. If Kevin Kolb has to start to an extended period of time, the Bills just might be on the clock for Clowney.
