Bitcoin is now heading out into a high-profit mainstream industry, becoming another accepted form of payment for the Sacramento Kings. According to ESPN, the Kings will become the first professional team to accept this virtual currency, using a Bitcoin processor called Bitpay, which will accept the digital dollars for gear and ticket purchases and convert it into actual cash for the Kings. Majority Owner Vivek Ranadive explains the big move:
“When I sold the NBA on keeping the team in Sacramento, my pitch included using the sports franchise as a social network to push the technology envelope,” Kings majority owner Vivek Ranadive told ESPN.com. “This is an example of that.”
Instead of losing your actual wallet, be careful about losing your virtual wallet.
