The Buffalo Bills really wanted Sammy Watkins. We know they traded up to the 4th pick to get him but now we are finding out just how far they were willing to go to get the speedster out of Clemson. They tried to move to #1 to grab him according to their official website:
“We went with Houston right off the bat,” Jim Monos, Buffalo’s director of player personnel, said. “We tried to go to No. 1. They weren’t having it. They knew who they wanted, so we started working our way right down.”
I guess Watkins should feel loved and wanted. However, it would have been very interesting to see Watkins go #1 ahead of Clowney and then those two would be linked forever like Mario Williams and Reggie Bush. The Bills got their man, now we have to see if EJ Manuel can keep progressing.
