As former players continue to add their name to the lawsuit against the NFL, accusing NFL teams and team doctors of illegally supplying drugs and potent narcotics in attempts to keep players on the field, Adrian Peterson is able to emphasize with his former teammates.
In 2012 Peterson made a remarkable return back to the NFL, following a gruesome torn knee ligament and went on to win the league’s MVP award. In an effort to return back to his previous playing condition, Peterson credits being knowledgeable and informed about what doctors prescribed him with throughout his career.
“It’s a very unfortunate situation,” Peterson said. “Anything I’ve taken to subside pain I knew what it was, and it was not ever forced on me. The side effects? I don’t know if that was ever explained to them back then.”
“I hope things work out in their favor. The NFL now and then, maybe this will give us insight into what happened back then. You make your own decisions, but if [repercussions] are not laid out to you …”
The lawsuit, which was first filed on May 20, was recently amended as additional players came forward bringing the total number of plaintiffs to 750.
