A Southern Methodist University professor and former Law School Dean responded to an online prostitution ad and agreed to pay $100 for sex acts at a Frisco hotel before his arrest, according to court records.
John Attanasio, 60, was arrested on a prostitution charge and booked into the Collin County Jail early Sunday. Four others were also arrested in the undercover prostitution sting, according to jail records.
The Texas Department of Public Safety conducted a sting operation by posting an ad on Backpage.com, an online classifieds website, on Saturday.
Attanasio responded to the ad and arrived at a Frisco hotel, the probable cause affidavit says. He met with an undercover officer and agreed to pay $100 in exchange for “specific sexual acts,” the affidavit says. He was arrested and taken to Frisco jail before being transferred to Collin County jail.
He was released on $500 bail.
