I understand stuttering isn’t the same as having Parkinson’s disease, but you would think someone with Parkinson’s disease would be more sensitive to other people’s issues. For whatever the reason he continues to take these personal shots at Floyd Sr. and no one calls him out on it. They are cruel and unnecessary shots. If you want to say Sr. is a bad trainer or Roger is better fine, but no one likes a bully and that is what Roach is doing right now.
“His dad, his poems are a little bit annoying but I think it’s kinda funny to be honest with you,” Roach admitted.
“But I like the dad in the corner because he is not the best cornerman. Roger’s been there 90-percent of he time. Roger’s the better cornerman. Roger gets the message to the fighter better than the dad. The dad stutters so much that in the corner…I mean…it takes him like three minutes to get one word out……ghhhh, ghhhhh, ghhhh……get em!!! He’s so nervous.”
“So I think he’s going to hurt the corner and I think Mayweather is just going to fight by himself in there anyways because that’s what he does. He’s a born fighter, he was never taught by anybody. He trains himself and the thing is – I don’t think he can match up with our game plan.”
You can make that comment without the stuttering references, it is weak and childish. If someone said Roach would be a detriment to Pacquiao because of his physical ailments, people would rightfully be up in arms. They should be the same with Roach’s comments.
