It seems like Cris Carter ruffled more feathers than he intended. Next up to speak their peace is Brandon Marshall.
The Jets receiver, who knows and has trained with Carter personally, voiced his opinion on Carter’s words and said that he’s not surprised by it.
“I believe that is the reality of a certain culture, but I don’t believe in that,” Marshall said, via SI’s Richard Deitsch. “I believe you should try to be your best every single day. Cris Carter is a guy that I have been around for the past 10 years, and as a player, sometimes I don’t agree with his approach. I feel like he is a guy who has been through a lot and he should be more understanding at times. This is just Cris Carter catching up with Cris Carter.”
Carter is on video giving young players advice if they ever get in trouble. Carter is recorded telling the boys to have a “fall guy” and if he goes to jail, bail him out. Carter has been reprimanded for his actions and has since apologized.
