I would imagine the school has some other reasons, but here is what the teacher had to say.
An ex-Orange County high school teacher is suing the school district claiming she was discriminated against.
Audrey Dudek filed a lawsuit on Wednesday which says she was treated differently by the at the time school principal and assistant principal because she ‘closely associated with non-whites’,WESH reported.
The former math teacher at Edgewater High School, who was let go in 2013, alleges in the suit that officials were ‘shocked’ and ‘offended’ after learning her now-husband, Stacey Cobb, was black.
The suit also claims that her classroom was referred to as ‘Club Audrey’ and that assistant principal, Anthony Serianni, complained about her playing ‘black music’ in her classroom, according to the suit.
‘This isn’t about sending a message. This is about getting justice for a teacher that was terminated unlawfully,’ said attorney Suzanne Tzuanos, whose firm is representing Dudek.
School claimed it was because of “budget cuts”.
