The injury bug strikes Miami again as Yahoo Sports is reporting that backup point guard Beno Udrih will undergo season ending foot surgery. This is a devastating blow to an already depleted Miami Heat team that is recovering from the sudden loss of Chris Bosh, and now only has one veteran point guard on the roster in Goran Dragic.
Udrih was the backup point guard for the Heat and performed well off the bench, running the team and facilitating the offense. The Heat must now rely on rookie Josh Richardson to step up and fill the void left by Udrih’s absence.
The Heat have been playing well since the All-Star break going 3-0 during that span, but must adjust quickly again in order to continue the momentum they are building towards the playoffs.
