It’s pretty much the end of January and it’s only fair that we start handing out some grades for the Knicks. How would you grade them in your book?
You get home at around 6:15 ish from work and you just recalled that there’s a Knicks game on at 7:30. A major part of you doesn’t want to watch and the other part has a soft spot for the team. The team isn’t doing the greatest but it could be worse- you could be a Browns fan and participate in a pity parade. Thankfully, that’s not the case but a few bad years as Knicks fan will make you question your sanity.
So far, the Knicks have faced the Nuggets, Lakers, Trail Blazers, Warriors, Pacers, 76ers, Wizards, and Thunder. Similar to how our teachers graded us in school, we’re going to grade the team and there may be a possible curve as we know what the ultimate goal is for the team- the lottery odds.
Out of these games, they’ve so far only one once and that was against the Lakers but at the same time, gave the rest of those teams a run for their money. This young team is fun to watch. They work and hustle hard. Now, that Lakers game was a fun one to watch. Would the outcome had been the same if LeBron was playing? Probably not but team improve to 10-35… That loss column is painful to look at and I’m not even a fan of the team.
Where do we even start on the grading? Which game stung the most? Well, for starters, that goaltending call is perhaps the icing on the cake that is the Knicks season. So it’s fair to say that game has hurt the most this month.
Losing on New Year’s Day is perhaps not the way many of us envisioned the season to start. All the other in between games since then have just continued to pile the loses on. Essentially, this is what it’s turned into and many fans are okay with that:

The same goes for the Bulls. The race is have that first pick is steady.
To answer some questions- this team will never publicly say that they’re tanking. Also, they’d be stupid to say so. They haven’t won at the Garden since December 1st and that was a sweet victory.
The question poised in the title needs some addressing. Where should one grade the Knicks? On court results should obviously be an F but what they’re doing off the court as far as the future and where they’re heading- that’s a hard C+/B-.
The next Knicks game is tomorrow night against the Rockets at 7:30 pm. Prepared to be wowed and pack your high blood pressure medicine.
