Chad Kelly’s punishment stemming from a bizarre October arrest is now known.
The NFL handed Chad Kelly a 2 game suspension from an arrest that is weird in its own way. Kelly was arrested in October of 2018 in Denver , while still a member of the Denver Broncos, for wandering into someone’s house in the middle of the night.
He was chased out of the home by a man with a vacuum, leaving Kelly a daze and with seemingly nowhere to go. Kelly was then charged with felony criminal trespassing, but got the charge dropped in exchange for a 2nd degree criminal trespassing charge.
Kelly was sentenced to 1 year of probation, 50 hours of community service, and other monetary fines.
Despite the legal issues that Kelly has attracted since college, the Indianapolis Colts signed him to a deal after a tryout with the team. He doesn’t have a secure roster spot though, as he isn’t even the 3rd quarterback on the depth chart.
Now with his suspension handed down, Kelly can focus on working to make the Colts roster, and to help himself not get into anymore trouble.
