Last week Antonio Brown showed the world the reason he hadn’t been on the field in a Oakland Raider uniform recently. The bottom of his feet were covered with what appeared to be blisters and now we know why. Reports are that they were in fact not blisters and AB’s feet were peeling as a result of frost bite. How did they get frostbite you ask well it appears AB wore the wrong shoes in the cryotherapy machine. With temperatures reaching as low as -284 degrees Fahrenheit proper foot wear is a must.
According to former NFL quarterback Chris Simms the raiders are still gathering information regarding AB’s condition.
On Monday, PFT Live co-host Chris Simms said that the photos posted by Brown don’t reveal blisters but the peeling of layers of skins from the bottom of his feet. Simms said that he once had a condition like that, thanks to what he called an “unidentified Buc fungus” in Tampa.
After Monday’s show, Simms got word from someone with knowledge of the situation that Brown burned his feet by entering a cryotherapy machine without the proper footwear, and his feet were frostbitten.
Brown’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, did not respond to a request for comment.
The former Steeler has seen a specialist and is regarded as day to day. With HBO’s Hard Knocks training camp with the Oakland Raiders set to premier, tonight fans will get to see more of the Raiders and more of AB.
