Social media continues to get athletes in trouble.
The NBA has specifically said that players should stay away from clubs and gatherings during the season. James Harden who is trying his best to get traded from Houston took that more as a suggestion than a rule and was spotted out at a Christmas party in Houston after throwing a basketball at a teammate.
The first annual Selective Group Winter Ball included a surprise appearance by Harden last night.
He seemed to be having a very good time and was gifted with a Dior suitcase by the hosts, who couldn’t help but put him on their various social media pages.
There doesn’t seem to be a mask anywhere in the video and there certainly wasn’t any social distancing, but there were a lot of strippers.
Good luck with that Houston.
The NBA and Rockets are reviewing the video according to BSO sources and Harden’s availability is in question for tonight’s season opener because of the potential violation of COVID-19 protocols.
*UPDATE*
The game was postponed and Harden was fined $50k.
