You know it was just a matter of time before Swizz and Timbaland were going to flip VERZUZ like a renovated house.
I personally thought they were going to sell to Apple, but in the end, they sold to Triller. Triller is the streaming app that put on the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. PPV and recently won a purse bid to showcase up-and-coming boxer Teofimo Lopez on their network.
This is a big get for their platform, we will have to see how they use VERZUZ which up to now has been free on their PPV network.
Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s VERZUZ has been acquired by Triller Network, the parent company of the TikTok competitor Triller. While the exact nature of the deal was undisclosed, it was announced that the two VERZUZ founders are now “larger shareholders” in the Triller Network, and that they have allocated “a portion of their equity in the Triller VERZUZ combined company to all 43 creatives who have performed on VERZUZ to date.”
People have had various reactions to the merger.
