The Texans either need to sh*t or get off the pot with Deshaun Watson.
If I were them, I would make him start Week 1. What is he going to do, tank in front of an entire roster of grown men? Do you really think he would go out there and throw INTs on purpose?
That would kill his reputation and make him a pariah around the league.
The Texans so far have just put him on the shelf in the hopes the NFL will do something.
The NFL plans not to do anything, so Texans are in a tough spot. A QB of Watson’s caliber at his age shouldn’t be traded for any less than two #1 picks and probably three, but teams know the Texans have no leverage, so they are lowballing them.
According to Pro Football Talk, the Texans are about to take that lowball ofter.
Multiple executives from teams not directly involved in the discussions tell PFT that there’s mounting chatter that Watson will be traded in the coming days.
The two finalists are believed to be the Panthers and the Dolphins. (The Broncos and Eagles also had been linked to Watson.) If it happens, it will turn things upside down for whichever team gets Watson.
It’s hard to imagine a team giving the Texans what they’ve wanted for Watson — three first-round picks and more. So either the Texans are taking what they can get (if a trade happens), or the Texans will accept a package tied to the number of games Watson plays over the next two or three seasons.
Of course, the elephant in the room is the 22 women suing him for massage misconduct, the 10 criminal complaints against him, and the fact the FEDS are watching him.
With that being said, a team like the Panthers may let him play while that is all getting straighten out and then hope it is all settled out of court.
Watson just has to pray the grand jury doesn’t come back with an indictment that could complicate things.
Flip the pages for some of his massage ladies speaking about their experiences with him.
