Russell Westbrook was upset that OKC dunked at the end of the game when the game was already in hand.
Westbrook had an amazing stat line.
He had 20 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists, 10 turnovers, and -12 plus/minus.
That is the rarely seen QUINTUPLE DOUBLE.
That is insane.
It is still very early in the season, so I am not one to panic over things like this, but I think this is more or less what you are going to get from Westbrook every night for the rest of his career.
He is a threat for a triple-double at any time, but he will be a high turnover player, and his outside shooting will be iffy at best.
There will be good games, bad games, and games like this where he was outstanding and terrible at the same damn time.
The Lakers’ health is already an issue. LeBron’s ankle hasn’t fully healed since last season and seems like something that will bother him all year.
Anthony Davis is forever brittle, and you can’t expect Carmelo to give you 20 every night so that it will be a roller coaster ride for the Lakers all year.
Where is Caruso when you need him?
I forgot he is in Chicago catching ally-oops from Lonzo with the Bulls. In all seriousness, while the Lakers will give the hot take shows plenty of material all season, none of this actually matters.
What matters is how they are looking come playoff time when they had to deal with a loaded Western Conference. If they aren’t operating at full capacity, they might not make it out of the first round again, and all these old players will be one and done with the Lakers.
It should be very interesting to watch.
