Matthew Stafford’s wife, Kelly Stafford, isn’t happy about Richard Sherman criticizing her husband’s Hall of Fame resume on Monday, and she had to fire back and call him a hater on her Instagram Story.
Despite Matthew Stafford leading the Los Angeles Rams to a win in Super Bowl LVI, Sherman believes and thinks the quarterback doesn’t deserve a gold jacket.
Larry Brown Sports has details of Kelly Stafford boldly trashing Richard Sherman for downplaying her husband’s NFL achievement.
Sherman criticized Stafford’s Hall of Fame resume on Monday. He said the Hall of Fame bar seems “incredibly low now” and noted that Stafford has only made one Pro Bowl and has never been an All-Pro or league MVP.
Stafford’s wife, Kelly, responded to Sherman with a message on her Instagram story. She tagged Sherman in a clip of Stafford waving that is captioned “HI HATERS.”
Of course, Stafford is just 34. If he wins another Super Bowl with the Rams, his legacy would become that much stronger. His story is still being written.
It’s no surprise Kelly came to the defense of her husband so quickly. She is always outspoken in defending Matthew, which we were reminded of when she took a vicious shot at Ndamukong Suh earlier in the postseason.
Just because you have a differing opinion doesn’t make you a hater. You could make a sound argument why Matthew Stafford shouldn’t be a Hall of Famer if his career ended today. The good news for Stafford is that he likely will have another good 4-5 years before he retires.
As of today, he isn’t a Hall of Famer, but if he can turn his overall record into a winning one, he will have a lot stronger case when he retires. If he can win another Super Bowl, that will almost guarantee he will get into the Hall of Fame.
