You can tell how much LeBron respects Steph Curry because of how hard he plays against him.
Bron can have a bad knee, ankle, and back, but when the Warriors come to town, he will try to drop 50 on Steph’s head. I can understand why he would want to play with Steph considering all the bricks thrown up this year on the Lakers.
Steph is getting up there in age as well, so if they are going to make it happen, it better be sooner than later.
LeBron was on THE SHOP when he spoke about playing with Bronny, Steph, and a name that might surprise you. Complex transcribes what THE KING had to say.
LeBron reveals that his son Bronny is “number one on my f*cking list” as far as players he wants to play professional basketball with. “Nah, he can’t beat me,” he said when asked by Gunna if he could be bested by Bronny.
“Not too long ago, I asked him, ‘What you wanna do with this? You wanna get to the pros? What you wanna do?’ He said, ‘Yeah.’ I said, ‘Why?’ He said, ‘Because I wanna make a name for myself,’” LeBron continued. “That’s all I needed to hear.”
As for all-time players, LeBron said Scottie Pippen is his pick. “Obviously MJ was crazy, Kobe would’ve been another one. But Scottie Pippen and Penny Hardaway was like my two… Because I see myself in them,” he said.
As far as current players, LeBron said he’d love to play with Steph Curry. Asked why he picked Steph, LeBron described the Warriors point guard as “lethal.”
LeBron has one more year left at $44 million with the Lakers. At that point, he will be 39 years old and will hold some major statistical records in the NBA, including being the all-time leading scorer. He will have a few options. He could retire, he could see where Bronny is drafted and spend his last year there OR make one more run at a title with, say, Steph Curry.
We shall see.
