Colin Kaepernick’s fiancee Nessa Diab rightfully blasted the NFL after it listed him as “Retired” on its official website.
Essentially Sports got more;
Colin Kaepernick did not receive the most pleasant farewell from the NFL after his protests on the field. In 2016, Kaepernick took the knee in protest against racial and social injustices in the US. Moreover, his fiancé Nessa Diab spoke out against the NFL in 2020. She stands with Colin’s move to spread awareness and showcase his concern against injustices.
However, Nessa’s support also caused a playing spot for Kaepernick with the Ravens. Kaepernick did not have any workout for a long time until he got one with the Raiders. But evidence and videos from 2017 suggest that the Baltimore Ravens were interested in signing Kaepernick.
Nessa Diab lashed out at the NFL for listing Colin as ‘retired’ on its official website. She snapped on it and posted a series of tweets criticizing the NFL for ‘blackballing’ her fiancé.
Nessa did not hold back while calling out the NFL in her tweets. She went on to tag the commissioner of the league, Roger Goodell, and the NFLPA.
Further, her tweets led to a severe backlash against the NFL for listing the former 49ers’ QB as retired. Consequently, the official website listed him as an Unrestricted Free Agent (UFA).
However, these were not the only tweets Diab posted supporting her fiancé. Kaepernick also lost a chance to play for the Ravens when Nessa posted a controversial tweet that involved Ravens’ owner.
You can’t be retired if you are still working out with teams and you haven’t officially sent in your retirement papers to the NFL. I don’t even think Terrell Owens is officially retired even though he is in the Hall of Fame.
It does appear though no one will give Kaepernick a chance.
