After Shedeur Sanders‘ performance against the TCU Horned Frogs in Colorado’s season opener on Saturday, Tom Brady texted him.
Shedeur had a tremendous game while competing while his father, Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders, watched on from the sidelines. He threw for a school-record 510 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions.
On the strength of the 45-42 victory, the Buffs have reentered the AP Top 25 for the first time since their brief visit in 2020. Ryan Koenigsberg, a Colorado sports insider, has disclosed that Shedeur received a three-word text message from Brady after the performance.
The advice was, “Don’t be satisfied.”

Simple but reliable. After completing passes for more than 500 yards in one game, it’s simple to become complacent. However, it’s only the first leg of what should be a protracted journey, and the Buffaloes quarterback will have to maintain his hunger all season.
Fans need not worry about complacency setting in because of his father’s constant supervision. But Brady, who Shedeur has previously trained with, did a really beautiful thing.
