The Pittsburgh Steelers have mentioned three well-known NFL quarterbacks as possible offseason targets.
For quarterback Kenny Pickett, the team will bring in “competition,” according to head coach Mike Tomlin’s announcement last month. Mitch Trubisky, the backup, was cut last week, and Mason Rudolph, the third stringer, is a free agent.
The Pittsburgh Steelers may target Ryan Tannehill of the Tennessee Titans, Russell Wilson of the Denver Broncos, and Justin Fields of the Chicago Bears in the summer, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter during his interview on “The Pat McAfee Show” last week.
Schefter went on to say that Tomlin considers Fields to be “a big fan.”

Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to look at the following QBs this offseason as completion for Kenny Pickett.

Tannehill, who lost his starting position to rookie Will Levis, is a prospective free agency and is unlikely to come back to Tennessee. In the meanwhile, it’s generally believed that Wilson will be cut by the Broncos and become a free agent.
After finishing 2023 as Pittsburgh’s starter quarterback, Rudolph made all three of his starts, helping the team to a 10-7 record and a postseason berth. On Wild Card Weekend, though, the Buffalo Bills handily defeated the Steelers.
Despite having a 14-0 record as Pittsburgh’s starting quarterback through two seasons, Pickett’s career QB rating is only 78.8, and he has only 13 touchdowns and a high number of interceptions. It is obvious that competition is needed for the first-round selection in 2022.
