There is a strong possibility, though not yet officially confirmed, that certain individuals made payments to ensure that most of the charges against Jackson Mahomes were dropped. Despite being caught on video, the person who accused Mahomes of wrongdoing declined to assist the police with their investigation. This decision came after her business was forced to shut down due to backlash from Kansas City Chiefs supporters, who were displeased that she had reported the incident to law enforcement.
According to Channel 5 in Kansas City, Jackson won’t have to serve any jail time after taking a plea deal.
Jackson Mahomes pleaded no contest to one count of misdemeanor battery during a Johnson County court hearing Thursday afternoon.
The brother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes entered the plea and a judge found him guilty of the crime.
Following his plea, the judge sentenced Mahomes to 120 days in jail and six months of probation. The judge then suspended the jail time as long as he follows the terms of his probation.
The battery charge stems from an incident at Aspen’s Restaurant and Lounge in Overland Park, Kansas, in February 2023. A male waiter at the restaurant said Mahomes pushed him more than once.
A judge previously dropped three felony charges that were filed against Mahomes. The alleged crimes happened the same night as the battery charge according to court records.
Those felony charges were dropped after court documents revealed that the alleged victim, a 40-year-old owner of a restaurant in Overland Park, refused to testify in court
