The Lakers are on a five-game winning streak, which has put an end to any questions about their postseason chances. As Los Angeles gradually climbs back up the standings, the odds of a playoff run improve — and one of the Lakers’ superstar supporters believes LeBron James may lead them to an improbable title this season.
Lil Wayne advises rivals to not take LeBron James lightly
During an appearance on FOX Sports’ “Undisputed” on Friday, rapper Lil Wayne told hosts Paul Pierce and Skip Bayless that there is still an air of inevitability surrounding LeBron and the Lakers, and if they make it out of the Play-In Tournament, they will once again be a tough out in the Western Conference playoffs.
Lil Wayne, a five-time Grammy winner legally known as Dwayne Michael Carter, compared LeBron’s Lakers to two of North American sports’ most predictable athletes: Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady. The latter, a six-time Super Bowl champion, always seemed to thrive in adversity and relished leading the New England Patriots (and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) to surprising success, whereas Mahomes has won three Super Bowls before turning 30.
