The Golden State Warriors‘ greatest loss over the past few months has been Draymond Green‘s ejections. In the spirit of competition, the seasoned Warriors player has attempted to take on other players, but each time he has been punished. Klay Thompson recently opened out on how the team felt without him during an interview on “The Draymond Green Show.”
Every time that Green goes off the court, according to the shooting guard, the opposing team feels more confident about themselves. Alongside Stephen Curry, he also thought back on their journey together. He stated:
“When you’re not out there, it’s like a piece of us is gone.”
The 34-year-old claimed that because they’re nice guys who like not to get their hands dirty, they wouldn’t have the freedom they enjoy now without Green. But when it comes to addressing difficult situations on the court, he is the team’s backbone.
"When you're not out there, it's like a piece of us is gone… [Me & Steph Curry] could never be ourselves and have the freedom we do on the court without you."

Due to his recent acts, Green has missed a lot of time on the court, and everyone has been wondering how this might have affected the squad. Thompson’s admission makes it quite evident that the forward watches out for them on the court, acting as a big brother.
Green, according to the five-time All-Star, is the team’s “heartbeat” and keeps everyone else on the squad in line. He also stated that even though Klay and Steph are leaders, the youngsters on the team need to hear things from Green because no one speaks the game like he does. He said,
“There’s going to be a void there always if you’re not out there, and we’re not the Warriors without Money Green, that’s just a fact.”
