Another amazing day, another accomplishment by Domantas Sabonis. Now that he has joined Wilt Chamberlain as the only players with at least 1,000 rebounds and 600 assists in a single season, the Kings great center has established himself in the upper echelons of the NBA.
With eight games left in the 2023–24 regular season, Sabonis has collected 1,007 rebounds after grabbing 11 boards in Sacramento‘s 127–106 victory over the Utah Jazz on Sunday. He contributed six assists and 17 points to the victory on Sunday.
Domantas Sabonis became just the 2nd player in NBA history to achieve a 1000 Point/1000 Rebound/600 Assist Season.

Sabonis is one of FOUR PLAYERS since the 1980-81 season to record 70 or more double-doubles in a season:
Kevin Garnett – 71 in 2003-04
Hakeem Olajuwon – 72 in 1992-93
Moses Malone – 3x (73 in 1982-83, 71 in 1981-82, 74 in 1980-81) https://t.co/MEj7moWhiA pic.twitter.com/iA4ct3he1P— NBA History (@NBAHistory) April 1, 2024
With two Hall of Fame performances under his belt, Chamberlain is clearly in a class by himself. However, Sabonis’ name has appeared in Chamberlain area on multiple occasions this season, and he continues to improve.
