Tyler Herro is apparently taking the phrase “be ready for anything” very seriously.
Photos of the Milwaukee Bucks guard training in boxing during the offseason have gone viral. The timing is especially interesting because Herro and former teammate Bam Adebayo were reportedly involved in a physical altercation during the same offseason.
Coincidence? Probably. But the internet is going to have fun with it anyway.

Herro has been putting in work inside the boxing gym. The photos show the NBA guard working on his technique. He looks focused. He also looks like someone who has decided basketball conditioning simply wasn’t stressful enough.
Herro has apparently trained in boxing in the past, so this is nothing new. The timing of these photos is hard to ignore after the Adebayo incident, however.
“Honestly, I’m just trying to move past all of it,” Herro told reporters earlier in July. “I’m focused on Milwaukee and building something special. They obviously just traded the greatest player in their history [Giannis Antetokounmpo], so we want to come in and help continue what they’ve been doing.”
The biggest question is whether the training has anything to do with the reported incident involving Adebayo. There is no evidence that Herro’s boxing workouts were inspired by that confrontation.
Sometimes a boxing workout is simply a boxing workout.
But when an NBA player has been linked to a physical altercation and then suddenly starts throwing combinations in a gym, the internet is obviously going to have jokes.
At least Herro appears to be staying busy.
Basketball, boxing, offseason training: the man has apparently decided that vacation is overrated.
And judging by the viral photos, Tyler Herro is not just preparing for the NBA season, he’s preparing for absolutely everything.
