Rashee Rice‘s career was taking off in February following his memorable performance in the Chiefs‘ Super Bowl victory. However, after his automobile accident and suspected assault in May, the gifted wide receiver experienced a number of setbacks in the following months.
Since Rice was essential to the Chiefs’ Super Bowl strategy, these failures proved to be highly problematic. Therefore, even though the front office made the necessary additions to the team in the form of Hollywood Brown and Xavier Worthy, the Chiefs may miss Rashee Rice’s accuracy and ability to find gaps in the defense this season.
Adam Schefter, an NFL insider, just gave an important update regarding Rashee’s availability.
Rice is not expected to play in the season opener against the Ravens, according to Schefter, who investigated the event. On the ESPN Show, he discussed the multi-game suspension and how the NFL’s personal conduct code is a setback for young guns. He said,
“It certainly sounds like the Chiefs are bracing for a multi-game suspension for Rashee Rice. And it doesn’t look like he is going to be a part of that start of the season. That opening night game against the Baltimore Ravens. The personal conduct policy mandates certain discipline in place, no matter what. And the facts right now are such that they are against Rashee Rice. And we will see what the investigation turns up. But there are concerns within the organization.”
Schefter claims that since Rice has three difficulties, each of which has a deadline for resolution, it is imperative that the Chiefs get ready with the preemptive mindset that they will be playing without him.
