“This better be Espresso Martini,”

Drake one of the millions affected by crazy weather

The largest city in Canada saw more rain in four hours on Tuesday than Toronto does on average throughout the month of July. As a result, streets were submerged, roads and subway stations were closed, and tens of thousands of people lost electricity.

Toronto’s Pearson International Airport reported on X Tuesday afternoon that it had received over 97 millimeters (about 3.82 inches) of rain, making it the fifth wettest day ever. The previous record for July 16 rainfall, established in 1941 when the airport received 25.9 millimeters (1 inch), was also broken on Tuesday, according to the report.

This summer, portions of North America and the Caribbean have seen devastating hurricanes that break records. This month, Hurricane Beryl killed nine people and left extensive damage in Grenada and Jamaica before bringing winds, rain, and flooding to Texas.

Beryl killed at least eight people in Texas and Louisiana and knocked out power to over 2.5 million residences.
