Hey there, gamers and sports fanatics! If you’ve been living under a rock or perhaps just too deep into your gaming dungeon, you’ve probably missed the latest buzz swirling around EA Sports’ highly anticipated release of ‘College Football 25.’ Spoiler alert: it’s smashing records right out of the gate!
Can you believe this? EA Sports is estimated to have raked in a jaw-dropping $80 million on just the first day of sales! That’s right—mind-blowing numbers coming from a virtual turf that many fans have been itching to dive back into for years. If nostalgia had a price tag, this would be it!

For those not in the loop, ‘College Football 25’ marks the triumphant return of the beloved franchise after a lengthy hiatus. 11 years, to be exact! Gamers have practically been counting the days, and it looks like the enthusiasm paid off big time.
So, what’s behind this mega sales figure?
Monday’s launch was so insane that EA’s servers crashed shortly after the game went live. There were more than seven hundred thousand (!!) people playing online as of 10:00 p.m. EST.
That number doesn’t even include the people who were playing, but not online. It’s not at all crazy to think that one million college football fans had a controller in their hands on Monday night.
Even going off of the 713,974 number — EA Sports made a lot of money!
The two early access packages cost either $100 or $150. Let’s split the difference and say $125.
714,000 online players multiplied by $125 equals $89,250,000. EA sports made no less than $89 million from its early release on Monday. There is a high probability that the actual number is greater than $100 million, if not closer to $150/200 million.
Although we don’t have the exact stats, it is already safe to say that College Football 25 is the highest-grossing sports video game of all-time in a single day, and probably one of the 10 fastest selling video games of all-time. The number of copies sold is only going to grow in the coming days and weeks!
All in all, EA Sports is not just back in the game; they’re back with a bang that’s echoing across living rooms and gaming setups nationwide. So, grab a controller, gather your friends, and hit the virtual field—who knows what new records ‘College Football 25’ will set as the season unfolds? Cheers to a new chapter in college football gaming!
