Apparently, some NFL fans have gone wild with accusations against George Pickens. They’re claiming that he used a burner account to defend himself after the Steelers’ embarrassing loss to the Cowboys at the team’s home grounds.
I mean, we’ve all heard of athletes defending themselves on social media before using burner accounts. But George Pickens takes it to a whole new level with this whole burner account debacle. It’s like he couldn’t face the criticism head-on, so he had to create an alter ego to do it for him.
Now, I don’t know if these accusations are true or not, but it’s causing quite the stir among fans. They’re calling him out left and right, saying that he couldn’t handle the defeat and had to resort to such tactics.
After posting his best game of the season against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4, George Pickens was limited to just three receptions on seven targets for 26 yards as the Cowboys escaped with a 20-17 road win.
Post-game video analysis has shown Pickens seemingly giving little effort on some of his routes throughout the game. Per Nick Farabaugh of PennLive.com, head coach Mike Tomlin cited “load management” behind Pickens’ efforts on some of the routes.
George Pickens hasn’t been shy in expressing his displeasure when he doesn’t get the ball as much as he would like. So naturally, fans can’t help but be critical of the third-year wide receiver when he has a quiet game.
Until then, George Pickens better brace himself for the storms that are brewing. The NFL fans can be merciless, and they won’t let this burner account incident slide easily. For all you know, they are false accusations.
