Paul Pierce Fulfills His Promise of Walking 8 Miles After Losing a Bet

Paul Pierce is one funny guy. Following the failure of his pregame prediction that the Celtics would defeat the Knicks in Game 2, the NBA icon and FS1 personality kept his promise Thursday, documenting his hours-long stroll to work in a beach towel.

When Pierce, 47, started the eight-hour, 20.2-mile journey in Los Angeles, he posted on Instagram Stories: “Welcome to this journey, here I go,”

After the Knicks came back from behind to win 91-90 on Wednesday, taking a 2-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference semifinals, Pierce, who started his 19-year NBA career in Boston in 1998, immediately bemoaned the Celtics for placing him in this situation.

According to the ten-time NBA All-Star: “I can’t believe this, Celtics got me out here like this,”. “I’m really walking out here like this. I got a long walk to go.”

Just hours before, Pierce was lounging on the set of “Speak,” promising fans that if the Celtics lost to the Knicks for the second consecutive game, he would walk to the studio the next day in his bathrobe.
