Ex-Lakers Christian Wood Shot at Robbers Who Tried to Break Into His Home

Former Los Angeles Lakers center Christian Wood allegedly fired a gun at a group of suspects who attempted to break into a home he was staying at in the Sherman Oaks neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The incident occurred around 1 p.m. when three male suspects reportedly breached the back door of the residence. Wood, who was inside at the time, confronted the intruders with gunfire.

Key Details of the Incident:

  • Suspects Met with Fire: Police confirmed that the suspects were met with shots fired from inside the home shortly after gaining entry.
  • Fled the Scene: The three men immediately fled the property in a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee.
  • No Property Taken: Authorities reported that no property was stolen during the attempted burglary.
  • No Injuries Confirmed: It is currently unknown if any of the suspects were struck by the gunfire, and no related injuries have been reported.

Police did not specify if Wood, who played for the Lakers from 2023 to 2025 and is currently an NBA free agent, owns or rents the property.

As of Thursday, the suspects remain at large. The LAPD has not indicated that Wood faces any charges related to the shooting, which appears to be classified as an act of self-defense during a home invasion.

Wood pulled off a real-life Soulja Boy.
