Rashee Rice Sued By Dacoda Jones For Domestic Violence After He Moved on With Rubi Rose

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is being sued by the mother of his two children, who alleges a pattern of physical abuse over nearly two years, which was first reported by BSO, according to court documents filed this week via TMZ Sports.

Dacoda Jones claims Rice choked, strangled, scratched, hit and headbutted her between December 2023 and July 2025, causing bleeding, swelling, bruising and pain to her neck, face, mouth, arms, legs, chest and shoulder. The lawsuit, filed in district court, also accuses Rice of throwing objects at her, punching walls and breaking furniture, with much of the alleged abuse occurring while Jones was pregnant.

“Rashee Rice continued to repeatedly [assault] Dacoda Jones over the course of their relationship,” the lawsuit states. Jones is seeking more than $1 million in damages but did not specify an exact amount.

The civil suit comes amid an ongoing NFL investigation into Rice for possible violations of the league’s personal conduct policy, stemming from Jones’ earlier public allegations. Last month, Jones posted photos on Instagram showing bruises and wounds, claiming years of domestic abuse by the father of her children, though she did not name Rice directly in the initial posts. Those posts were later deleted.

The Chiefs said in January they were aware of the social media allegations and were communicating with the league, but offered no further comment. As of Wednesday, no police report had been filed in connection with the claims, according to authorities in Overland Park, Kansas, and Dallas, where some incidents allegedly occurred.

Rice, 25, has not publicly addressed the allegations or the lawsuit. His representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment. In late January, Rice declined to discuss the matter when approached by reporters.

The lawsuit was filed days after Rice went public with his relationship with rapper and model Rubi Rose, 28, posting affectionate photos on Instagram on Valentine’s Day. Rose shared similar images, confirming the romance amid speculation about the couple. The timing has drawn attention, as it follows Jones’ January posts by about a month.

Rice, a second-round draft pick out of SMU in 2023, has been a key contributor for the Chiefs. In 2025, he pleaded guilty to felonies related to a high-speed car crash in Dallas, serving jail time and receiving a six-game NFL suspension before returning to the team.

The NFL said it is reviewing the latest developments under its conduct policy but declined further comment.
