The internet tried it, LeBron James saw it, and LeBron laughed so hard he nearly needed oxygen.
The latest comedy special came courtesy of analyst Chris Brockman, who suggested that a Miami Heat team led by LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo would be fighting for a play-in tournament spot.
Yes, you read that correctly. Not the NBA Finals, not the Eastern Conference Finals: the play-in tournament.
Brockman jokingly told LeBron to “enjoy the play-in tournament” while discussing rumors of the King heading to Miami and teaming up with Giannis after the Heat somehow pulled off the biggest trade robbery since somebody traded a sandwich for Bitcoin in 2011.
LeBron’s response? 22 laughing emojis.
That wasn’t a response, that was a digital standing ovation for comedy.
LeBron James laughs at guy thinking the Heat would be a play-in team with him.
Why would he repost this ☝️🧐☝️ pic.twitter.com/VuVyv9W9J1

LeBron reposted the clip on Instagram and turned his story into an emoji convention. The message was clear: “Y’all really think me and Giannis are fighting for the tenth seed?”
James hasn’t made a decision, but this clearly shows the belief he has in the Heat being successful if LeBron was to join them this offseason.
While we refer to a James-Giannis duo, it’d likely be a Giannis-Bam Adebayo duo leading the team with ‘Bron filling the gaps potentially as a primary playmaker who can also space the floor and attack the rim.
LeBron averaged 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 7.2 assists last season with a fluctuating role all season, so he can clearly be productive within a smaller role.
Miami still needs to officially lock everything in. NBA rumors have a habit of aging like milk left in a parked car.
But if Pat Riley actually pulls this off, the play-in tournament is probably the last thing Heat fans should worry about.
LeBron clearly agrees, hence the 22 laughing emojis.
