Jags quarterback Blake Bortles had some honest and direct criticism of the NFL’s color rush uniforms. The Jags will be wearing the brown mustard top and bottoms against the Titans on Thursday night. In a conference call with the Nashville media, picked up by ESPN, Bortles let loose:
I think somebody’s got to tell the truth, so I might as well be the first to say it: I think they’re ugly as hell. I’m not a big fan of the mustard. I think they could have done a better job, and I think they should choose a different color.
Can’t say I disagree, the Jags color rush uniform is gross. But, I’m sure enough people will buy them and fill the NFL’s overstuffed coffers. Bortles didn’t just criticize, he did offer alternate suggestions:
I think teal could pop. But are you guys going baby blue again? So maybe those are too close. I’d like an all white. Maybe we could paint our helmet one color solidly and go all white.
Teal might not be too bad. All white, ehhh. University of Oregon tried that once…
